CHIDDINGSTONE MILL
The mill in Chiddingstone was known previously as Cranstead Mill and is thought to have been on this site for a thousand years. It ceased to be a working mill in the 1930s. Locals still remember the miller doing his rounds of the village with his pony and trap. Today it is a private house, the mill wheel has gone but the sluice gate and mill race still remain.
